About Me

My name is Sandie, and I've been cooking in my home, hosting dinner parties, and concocting new recipes for at least the past 10 years. My mother continues to be an inspiration to me, and I feel closer to her when I can be in the kitchen! She passed away when I was only 12 years old, but I have many fond memories of cooking with her, standing on a chair next to the stove (before that was heavily frowned upon) and helping to stir the big pot of applesauce that she was cooking down from raw apples and making jams and jellies. My mother was the best cook I know, and I feel blessed that I was able to spend as many years with her as I did while being sad that I didn't get to know her more.

One of these days, I really will go to school to be a professional chef... In the meantime, I am having a blast cooking the things I love, and experimenting with new recipes, as an amateur cook! Some of my recipes are authentic and I am the original author, but a lot of them are recipes I found. Whether I kept everything in the recipes the same or changed things to suit my own personal tastes, I still get a lot of inspiration from all different kinds of cooks and chefs.
